Additive manufacturing
Latest trends, applications and testimonials from real projects

Manufacturing is an ecosystem in which each technology fills a specific niche. 3D printing and 3D printing on metal are valuable resources—they can be used to cost-effectively and efficiently produce many of the low volume, high-strength parts critical to the production line. In production and manufacturing, productivity is directly linked to revenue and performance. By offloading production, and therefore costs, from machines or manufacturing services to fast on-site manufacturing machines, you can save money through return on investment (ROI).
In the sessions at the 2019 CAE Conference, medium-sized companies and university professors illustrated their successful projects in topology optimization, design for additive manufacturing, and process improvements that show real savings. The positive ROI of the selected cases has been achieved by eliminating the “routine” manufacturing costs of the product, such as maintenance labor, prototyping, and tooling costs -- factors that can make additive worth the investment.

3D printing for mechanical applications

Abstract
Learn how composite and metal 3D printing can be used to accelerate tooling development for mass production. Use 3D printing to fabricate rigid, dimensionally accurate inspection fixturing at a fraction of the cost of traditional method production of custom, low-volume, or geometrically complex end-use parts.

Metal printing with Markforged Metal X – the innovative way

ABSTRACT
The Metal X is up to 10x less expensive than alternative metal additive manufacturing technologies — and up to a 100x less than traditional fabrication technologies like machining or casting.
Metal X has eliminated the safety risks associated with traditional metal 3D printing while enabling new features like closed-cell infill for reduced part weight and cost.
During the workshop several use case with material like inconel-625, H13 Tool Steel D2 Tool Steel 17-4 PH Stainless Steel will be shown to the audience.
